Equipment Inspection & Removal

Equipment Inspection
We’ve found that most buyers want to inspect equipment they’re interested in before the day of the auction. One or two days before the auction are set aside for buyers to preview (Now that many sales are online only, we must allow bidders to have time to look and then travel home to bid). Our on-site team will be available to direct you to the equipment you’re interested in.

If you’re unable to come during the general auction preview, please contact us at (713) 691-4401 to see if you can schedule an appointment for a private inspection. On the day of the auction, it’s a good idea to arrive early so you can inspect the items you’re interested in one last time before you bid.

Please note: Plant & Machinery, Inc. makes every effort to accurately describe each item in the auction; however, it’s possible that a mistake may occur. This is especially important to know if you plan to bid online or place a Proxy Bid. Please inspect before you bid. Remember, everything will be sold “As is, where is.” There is absolutely no warranty or guarantee of any kind either written or implied. Occasionally, additional information may come to light regarding any and all items being sold during the auction. This new information will be announced by the auctioneer during the reading of sale terms & conditions, or prior to the start of the bid on a particular item. When this occurs, the new information takes precedence.

Equipment Removal
Machinery removal is the responsibility of the buyer. All equipment must be removed in accordance with the specific Plant & Machinery, Inc. auction timeline and terms of sale. See the specific auction page for details. Our employees will be on site to supervise equipment removal, but we do not perform any packing/crating, shipping or rigging services.

Item removal generally begins as soon as the auction ends, but no equipment can be removed prior to the completion of the sale. Anyone using a powered vehicle to move items, whether they are a rigger or buyer, must have a certificate of insurance on file with Plant & Machinery, Inc. in the amount of $1,000,000 (or more) plus workman’s comp. PMI and the landlord must be added as an additional insured. This can be handled by mail, email, fax or in person.

A list of independent rigging service providers can be found on each auction information page. While PMI does not specifically endorse any of these companies, we provide the list for the convenience of our buyers needing to contract for the packing/crating and shipping of purchased equipment at our auction events.
